Water-based 3D-effect mid-air image display technology isn’t new.  It has been around for more than 10 years at marketing events, fashion shows, trade shows and permanent installations at theme parks and public venues. 

This water-based curtain of ultra-fine water droplets creates a screen without barriers, physical or otherwise.  This screen brought a new way of capturing attention and provided a new interface and level of interaction enabling content and function that is natural and fun.   

At the core of our display technology is the non-physical display medium used to achieve a holographic effect. The water molecules refract the light with remarkable clarity and brightness while not having a physical background. Because there is no physical background, your content appears floating in mid-air, while retaining translucence to see the actual background behind the display. This is how the 3D holographic effect is achieved. Your content appears on this vapor screen and can be reached through, seen through, and even walked through, creating an immersive experience conventional displays cannot provide. 

As fantastic and dynamic as this technology is, it has its limitations and special requirements. There are four key factors that impact the success of an installation:  the content, the lighting around the installation and viewing angle, the degree of airflow (e.g., ventilation) and its proximity to the installation, and the background behind the display.
